Hi all,

Firstly I have been suffering from Tennis Elbow, which is obviously bad news for a guitarist, so I've not been doing much music lately >:(
Having said that I met up with an old friend, who also used to be the vocalist in a "combo" I was in about 30 years ago, and we put down a track that I thought you might like to hear!
Its the Bonnie Rait song but we have put our own take on it...not far removed from the original but not a dead copy!!
Anyway, hope you like it, and here are the credits:
Paul King-Lead vocal
Jimbo-Backing Vocals and everything else!!

Hi Johnny,

Thanks for that!
The drums were a last thought (and because I dont programe drms yet!) they are only a snare tapped in through the keyboard :-[

Whats up with the guitar though? I kinda like the way it sounded?? ;D

Oooooops!!

Sorry Henry....I call you Doc just to be safe :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

The opening acoustics are my Washburn with a lot of compression (since I saw a documentary about Jeff Lynne :-[) and I sort of like how it came out.
The electric is just my Strat copy through the Cubase amp rack with a little flange on it, and I didnt like to overload it because my "plucking" isnt up to scratch :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

I think I need to work on those parts of it a little, I think I was a little overwhelmed by the vocals and I didn't want to drown them out.

But I take on board your comments and appreciate them because you have a greater talentthan I in that department, so off to do a lttle "tinkering" ;) ;) ;)

Take care Henry/Doc..........and sorry about getting your name wrong :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

Hi Doc,

A suitably chastised Jimbo is now on his way to his "mancave" with the specific objective of winning you over my friend :) :) :) :)

Tell Paul He sounds great!

I have always loved this song. I think you did a great job on the acoustic guitar. The compression doesn't bother me as it gives it an "Ovation" feel.

Gets a little busy towards the end.

Really enjoyed this!

Cheers Nick,

The busy-ness at the end was what I was a bit concerned about!

I still have a lot to learn about compression / EQ / maximising / Rendering but there is still time now my elbow is working normally again!

Cheers again mate!
