This summer song really came together well. Paul wrote some perfect lyrics for this to catch the feel perfectly. George delivered in his new "laid back" style and came up with the perfect melody. Andy put up one of the best bass takes I have heard him play. Nice subtle slides and lots of expression, well done mates!

Paul : Lyrics
George : Main vocals, backing vocals and melody
Andy : Bass, percussion, keyboard/synth
Mick : Guitars, drum programming and piano

Grand Southern View

v1)
The fan hums a steady beat
But there's barely a breeze
The ice tea is extra sweet
Life's as easy as you please

(chorus)
The golden sun sits high
Spanish moss hangs low
The days move so slow
Magnolias blossom new
It's a grand Southern view

(v2)
Mockingbirds guard their nest
Sounding an endless alarm
Flitting like they're obsessed
With a grand Southern charm

(chorus)

(v3)
There's no sweeter sight
Than a lovely southern belle
She'll treat you just right
As she casts her Southern spell

(chorus)
Very funny Spok ... now beam down my trousers.

A fantastic track.

You guys are always a joy to work with, and we sound great :)

George can often be found playing stringy things, and singing...

Yes you do.
A woman is on trial for beating her husband to death with his guitar collection.
The judge says "First offender?"
The woman says "No, first a Gibson, then a fender."

Guys:

I posted the below comment over in Studio A not realizing it was posted here, but the intent is the same, thanks for letting me be involved with this, it's always a blast.  Mick you've been the force behind both winter and summer and you Andy and George never disappoint.

This is so different for the group, it works well, GG again, you cover a large range with your vocals.  This takes me back to living on the Flordia Panhandle, which is what I used to write the lyric from, well done.

Paul

That's really cool and yes, that guitar sounds a bit like Jimmy Page.
Live the best you can 'cause you're gonna be dead for a long time.

Thanks for the great comments guys! I don't know about J. Page but I DID pinch a couple of chords from Rain Song, maybe that's what you are hearing. I really appreciate you taking the time to listen :)

I don't know about J. Page

Well, Jimmy Page is a very famous guitarplayer who played with bands like Led Zeppelin...
