Woohoo, song number 2 finished for my 'Dark Dolphin' album. This one started out as a co-write with my buddy Dale where we sat around with our guitars and a bottle of wine...always the best way  ;D

Originally we thought of using for his better half Tracey to sing , but nothing transpired so I thought it would be a good way to test the singing lesson Dvd's I'd been working through. Several people said my voice sounded better without me telling them I'd been working on it so I was pretty pleased right off the bat.  Once the boys all weighed in with there parts it gradually came together into something I'm real proud of  :)

Special thanks to everyone involved and those who helped it along.

Lyrics

Verse 1

If I bleed for you, would you bleed for me
If I tell you lies, would you lie to me
And if I hold you now will you just stop breathing - yeah

If I told you now, like I told you then
Rip the page apart and just start again
And if I hold you close to keep me breathin' - yeah

Bridge

You raise me up now I'm spiralling down
Running in circles around and around and around

Verse 2

If I tried too hard, like I did just then
And I play my cards as I count to ten
And If I pull you close to keep from leaving

If I say your name by the railway track
If I go too far and I can't go back
And if I lay you down will I just start grieving

Rpt Bridge

Verse 3

If I bleed for you, would you bleed for me
If I tell you lies, would you lie to me
And if I hold you now will you just stop breathing - yeah

Rpt Bridge

We never finish a mix... we simply abandon them.
You can't polish a turd, but you can always spray paint it GOLD
Great songs are not written, they are re-witten

Top notch, Mark! The production and everybody's performance is perfect. I'm pretty sure this could be a radio hit.

The judge says "First offender?"
The woman says "No, first a Gibson, then a fender."

Absolutely fantastic Mark! I purposely didn't listen to all the mixes because I didn't want it to spoil the suprise of how this would sound in the end.
You did not disappoint.

Well done everyone involved

very cool  8)

I always find it fascinating when I see the journey of one of Marks songs. From humble origins to eventually creating something that wouldn't sound out of place on Radio 1. Well done, Mark and well done to all involved. I will definitely buy a copy of this when it gets released.

Only another 10 to go  ;D

Billy.

Thanks Billy, yes you're right they do always seem to start out as guitar vocal and morph into something much bigger....it's what happens when you get so many good musicians on board;D

I've got 2 or 3 still in production, but I think I need to write the next batch. I will be bugging you for sure when I do. I was thinking of doing 10 on the album , but we'll see.

It was but this one had more 'legs' , challenge will be getting the rest of it to match the first two songs !

Turned out really nice Mark. Your songs are one of the few chances I get to use my guitar synth. I can hear a lot in there and most wouldn't even know that it's guitar playing in there. Perfect for background stuff. You know how to use the parts just right. Slice and dice baby!!  8)

Yeah!  This is awesome, love it.  Your songs "always" make me "smile"  :).  There is a lot of interesting sounds happening in here.  I can't identify them, but I certainly enjoy them from a "fan" perspective.

Fantastic ... Casia x

And another great performance and production here at mcs.
this isn't really my style but i like it.
there's something infectious about the groove.
Kinda reminds me a little of linkin park...in the end...sort of...
Anyway...nice job by everyone.
This deserves a salute \m/
rock-n-roll ain't pretty --- that's why they picked us to play it.
