The second part of the Frozen Strings trilogy. Paul came up with a whole lyric from just the title, that guy rocks! Andy put in a killer bass to make this tune into a danceable track. George got to play some awesome Jeff Beck-esque guitar along with his dynamic vocals. Great perfomances by all and a true collab with lots of ideas.

Cold Eclipse

(v1)
The landscape was barren; nothing stood in the wind's way
The cloudy skies were dark during this winter of decay
Some of us saw it coming and were filled with rage
But we were not prepared for this new ice age

(chorus)
We are all to blame
It can never be the same
As the wild wind whips
And the temperature dips
We brace ourselves
For this cold eclipse

(v2)
The sun shines brightly but no warmth gets through
We huddle around fires; keeping warm is all we can do
Everything has changed and it's only getting worse
There's nothing we can do it can't be reversed

(chorus)

(bridge)
They say this will last for thousands of years
Much longer than we will I'm afraid
Our time is ending it appears
Condemned by the mistakes we made

(v3)
And what do we tell the children to look forward to
How do we explain that the gray sky was once blue
All the sorrys we could say mean nothing at all
We didn't do enough to prevent our fall

(chorus)

George can often be found playing stringy things, and singing...

Hi Guys,

This turned out wonderfully well and it was a pleasure to be involved!!

Im thrilled as this was a real group effort, from Paul's strong imagery, Mick's wonderful bed track, sonic ideas in the bridge (not to mention his guitar playing), and George's strong vocals and striking solos.

Everyone contributed loads of ideas and each part melded effortlessly into the overall sound.

Mick - A special shout -out for mixing this baby.

Hi Mike,

I'm thrilled that you liked the song and the bass part  :). I did enjoy coming up with that little descending run - thanks for noticing  :D

In my book you are one of the top bass players and I value praise from you very highly - thank you so much :)

Cheers
Andy
