Hi MCS,

With great pleasure I post this song set to John's deeply museful lyric..one of his best I think.

Once again, I was helped by some of my supremely talented friends from MCS. George put in a wonderfully strong and sincere vocal. Mick played an atmospheric guitar solo guided no doubt by the spirit of Mr. Gilmour as well as several interesting guitar fills and sonics throughout. Cyclone added in some fluid acoustic guitar, and then Argle came in at the end for another of his great mixes.

Thanks again
Andy

The Meter Keeps On Spinning (Lyric: Mr Mom, Music: Andy, (c) 2011)

Intro: D A D E D A//D A D F figure x2

The meter keeps on spinning...
Many revolutions counted
My world is spinning out of control
An endless search for unknown things.
I don't even know what I'm looking for!
I sense that time is slipping away

Chorus:
                       C                                    Dm
And as I see the moon - spinning around the Earth,
      C
The Earth is spinning around the sun.
                                         Dm
And the Sun drifts on through space.

The meter keeps on spinning...
But tell me what it's counting?
Where do I turn for direction
I feel as though the answer's near
Some-one or something is calling me.
Life has left me dizzy from the pace.

Chorus
And I need to reach out - to grasp a steady hand.
Feels like I'm going round and round
(I) wonder how much time I've left.

Bridge:
G
Does it count my wasted days?
Dm
Does it count my days to come?
G                      Gm       Am            G        Dm9
Does it count the endless miles of my search?

Solo 1: over beginning arp
Solo 2: over bridge chords: G Dm G Gm Am G

Repeat 1st chorus

I agree with Mick... and also with everything Andy said about the gang!! 8) 8)
The music is awesome... the mix is awesome... the vocals are awesome!

I'm sure any "Floyd" tribute band wouldn't give a moments hesitation to adding this song in their setlist. 8)

Cyclone
A woman is on trial for beating her husband to death with his guitar collection.
The judge says "First offender?"
The woman says "No, first a Gibson, then a fender."

Oh thats not Guitar George..that's VocalGeorge :). Seriously a man of many talents indeed and the possessor of a very good voice.

Andy

Up till now I didn't know Guitar George sang.  A man of many talents, he is.

Argle - Andy pursuaded me to record myself about a year ago, when he and I were writing a song together. I've done it a lot since. The guitar playing is suffering though.
George can often be found playing stringy things, and singing...

Great! Another class act. I LOVE that chunky guit just before the solo, which is great, like the bass sound, like the production etc etc etc......
A very impressive work, gentlemen. I think you've all done a fantastic job.
And don't take take this personally George but IMO you run the risk of being arrested and charged for NOT singing when you own a voice like that. :)

LMAO - I agree with Toad, George should be ticketed with "failure to sing" anytime he passes up a chance to use his vocals on any collab!

Hey George, you must be getting damn close to picking a "top 10" or even 12 songs for a "Gorge on George" best of album!! 8) 8)

Hey Henry,

Thanks mate  :) I really appreciate the kind words abouth my music. I did try a retro yet modern approach for this song.

Well, I was born in London Islington so I guess I am British, though Indian in origin :).

George was superb with the vocal.

Henry the guitar parts are by Mick not Mike, btw :). Mick played some lovely parts.

Cheers
Andy
