Thanks to George Williams (Guitar George) for unbelievable vocals and his very cool savy putting his track together.
Thanks to Bill (R4m) on lead guitar. He was on fire with his solo.
I have enjoyed working with both of them and also appreciate the warm welcome to MC.
Have a listen and let me know what you think. I would appreciate the feedback, good or bad. It's the only way to learn.

Thankfully this party song is purely ficticious, but I wouldn't mind going to this party.

The lyrics:

Woke up last night and heard some laughing upstairs
I looked for you but you weren't there
Ran upstairs because I thought I heard your voice
There was a party going on

There you were in the middle of the room
You didn't see me walking in
All I could do was look at you
There was a party going on
A party going on
A party going on with you

There was a party going on
A party going on with you

You finally saw me looking real sad
You looked away, cause of the shame
They looked at me and tried to explain
There was a party going on

Nothing you can say will make the pain go away
You had your way and now it's time to pay
You just keep her - I have no plans to stay
There was a party going on
A party going on
A party going on with you

Great stuff. I really enjoyed this.

It's a great song, great writing and production, and a killer guitar solo.

I think its my best vocal effort here on MCS :)

Bob - also please can you post an APE (or similar) of this mix for posterity?

Bob! :)

Are you sure this party was fictitious! ???

I remember it back in 82' being sprawled on the floor with my...well...never mind. You're right, this is purely fictitious, my bad! ;D ;D

Very interesting piece, It sounds, to me, like an amalgamation of classic southern blues, and 90's urban rock.  You should post the lyrics for us writer types. I recall reading them in "studio A"...very different structure from the typical fare. :)

Great vocal on this George!

It's always fun hearing Bill find his groove....Two thumbs up, fellas! Cheers! 8) Johnny

I'm really glad everyone liked it, being that it was the first song I posted on MC.  :) It took awhile to put the whole puzzle together, but it finally came together in the end with everyones help.

Thanks again everyone I really had fun with this one.

Sounds like a cool song, great vocals.

Could you replace the MP3 with a better one though ? It sounds really low bitrate and ruining the listening experience. Try 192Kbps it should preserve all the high end that's very spashy right now.

Not a problem, in fact I'm working on a better mix as I am writing. My inherent problem is that I am a bass player as well and tend to mix too much low end. I think you will like this mix better. I'll have it up around 7:00pm east time.

Cool, but the mix was fine, just the Mp3 was a bit Lo-Fi

I think (hope) you guys will like this better. Lot of tweaking..... EQ on the final. I created a 32 bit wave file, that should have everything in it. I can still change it though, give me feedback and we'll tweak it some more.
