This song had the working title of 'Living in a cave'. It's a slide riff I've reworked into a new song. Thanks to Mr. Mom's lyrics it's now called 'Hittin' the road'.

Hittin' the road. (c) Mr. Mom, toadman 2011
Mr. Mom - Lyrics
Guitar George - Vocals
toadman - Music, guitars, bass, drum machine.

(Being the highly organised individual that I am, I can't find John's lyrics ANYWHERE and I'll have to ask his indulgence to post them).

Hey Guys,

This is a cool slide blues number - kind of a "Canned Heat" vibe to it?

Tasty slide guitar work, another good vocal from George Gillan, and rounded off by John's witty lyric.

Well done!

Andy

Most excellent work Mick! George's vocals are pure gold!!
Here's the lyrics:

Hittin' the Road

V1
There is one thing that I'll never do
I don't ever wanna be with you
You must take me for a crazy fool
To think I'd ever want a girl like you

V2
I would rather spend my time alone
Than to hear you on my telephone
You may think you are the one for me
You just fill me up with misery

Chorus
And that's whyyyyyyyy....... I'm hittin' the road
I'm not a lonely man, but I wanna be alone

V3
I just sit here... and reminisce
About the things I love and what I miss
This may come as quite a shock, you fool
The things I love and miss are not 'bout you

So I feel that I must go away
To prove I don't need you in my day

Chorus
And that's whyyyyyyyy....... I'm hittin' the road
I'm not a lonely man, but I wanna be alone

Solo

Chorus
And that's whyyyyyyyy....... I'm hittin' the road
I'm not a lonely man, but I wanna be alone

V4
I would rather spend my time alone
Than to hear you on the telephone
You may think you are the one for me
You just fill me up with misery

Chorus
And that's whyyyyyyyy....... I'm hittin' the road
I'm not a lonely man, but I wanna be alone
Damn it Jim! I'm a WRITER - not a Doctor!!

This is a fine song, Toad. You've got to love that slide guitar. It really gives a rich blues feel.

Spot on lyrics, John.

Another very convincing vocal from George and the production is perfect which should satisfy the most hardened blues fans (they can be a fickle bunch).

Keep them coming guys!

Thanks Billy,
I think that's the first time my production has been described as such.
(As for the song, I'm lucky I had George & John to carry me :))

We never finish a mix... we simply abandon them.
You can't polish a turd, but you can always spray paint it GOLD
Great songs are not written, they are re-witten

Thanks guys. I really enjoyed doing this one.
George can often be found playing stringy things, and singing...

The judge says "First offender?"
The woman says "No, first a Gibson, then a fender."
