This the 2nd song of a V-Band project that is finished.
The song "Call of the Twilight" inspired the name of the band "Call of the Twilight".
Initially the song came together exeptionally fast as all the songs I've ever done with these guys.
But due to the circumstances of everyday life that are unexpected, the project has slowed down to a crawl.
The clincher on this song was finding someone to mix.
Especially to please all of our picky desires!! ;D (Mainly Jay!) >:D (kidding) (well kind of....) >:D
Anyway Les Bolen totally aced the mix for us! So special thanks to him for a Fantastic Job!!

The song: Call of the Twilight consists of:
Pleasuredome (Steve)..................All vocals & Lyrics
HDA (Jay)..................................Keys
Jwoo10 (John)............................Drums
r4m (Bill)....................................Guitars

Again........Special Thanks to Les Bolen for a fantastic mix!!

Call of the Twilight (McAndrew)

Verse 1
Your voice as a whisper I hear on the wind
From the trees of the dell as dawn's chorus begins
The faint beating echoes of thoughts caught in time
Rich the sense of adventure, birth of feelings sublime

Verse 2
There is simply no time to acknowledge you're there
From the healthy distraction, childhood dreams unaware
In a haze of forever, the unfolding of youth
As we seek for our treasure in quest for the truth

Chorus 1
No sense of midnight, distant call of the twilight
In the glow of the firelight, faintly calling the twilight
No sense of midnight, distant call of the twilight
In the glow of the firelight, faintly calling the twilight

Verse 3
As you raise up your profile, start to make me aware
Quietly call from the shadows, I start sensing you're there
Still absorbed in distraction, though your presence now felt
As the turning of pages, now the ice starts to melt

Verse 4
The sand in the hourglass is falling on through
Meaning much more for me than it's meaning for you
Take my place on the journey, take my place in the line
As the question grows louder, now more your place than mine

Chorus 2
A slight sense of midnight, quiet call of the twilight
In the glow of firelight, quietly calling the twilight
A slight sense of midnight, quiet call of the twilight
In the glow of firelight, quietly calling the twilight

Verse 5
Though less time on my hands, start conversing with you
As you force me to listen, start to turning the screw
In this aging adventure, filled with sweetness and light
Start to think of tomorrow, now aware of the fight

Verse 6
Now the temperature's rising, as the sound of your voice
Makes it clear where I'm heading, makes it clear there's no choice
Now I must make some sign, an indelible mark
Before light fades away, soon replaced by the dark

Chorus 3
No mistaking the midnight, wish to go back to twilight
Dying embers of firelight, now the taunting, soon Midnight
Now the past that was twilight, screaming beckoning Midnight
Embers died now of firelight, screaming ends stroke of Midnight

Bill:

Mesmerizing, well done all.

The lyric (as you can imagine for me) is so well done.  Kudos Steve I walked with you.

  • Professionalism is an attitude
Ahh, now then. When I saw the line up in the credits I thought this is going to be rather good.....I wasn't disappointed.

This is truly superb song-writing. You guys have managed to create a sense of "suspense and build" that Hitchcock would of envied. From the early soft touches of Johns delicate but intelligent skin-beating and Jays retro electric piano flourishes the music tapestry was perfect for Steve's unique vocal abilities and the chemistry starts to happen. It's then that Bill stokes up the fire with some fine guitar work that sets off the fireworks for the climax. A nod to Les for a pristine mix.

I sighed with delight after each listen.

A renaissance of the super-group (albeit virtual)?

Well done, gentlemen!

Billy.

Not bad guys. Certainly no mainstream song, and that's positive. :)

really enjoyed this one guys, it was worth the wait. I especially enjoyed Jay's choice of sounds.. creates a dreamy backdrop.. all instrumentation very subdued.. nice build up to the solo, and the guitar stands out front as it should. well done. It's great to hear you back Steve.. I've missed hearing your voice :)

keep it up!!  :)
