Hi MCS,
Paul (PVD) came with this mesmeric lyric and as soon as I read the opening lines I was hooked!!
Right away the words evoked a dreamy keys driven sound - far removed from my usual stuff - but I plunged in anyway.
Luckily for me two very consummate musicians were kind enough to help me out - Bill (r4m) on sumptious guitars, and Jay (HDA) with an "out of this world" vocal and with his mixing skills.
It was a relaxed fun collaboration, and I think it ended up sounding pretty good.
Thanks again guys, and Paul, its always a pleasure to work with you.
Cheers
Andy

(v1)
Two squares in a rectangle the kanji remains a mystery
Yet the more I look the more I stare the more it seems to speak to me
I see you sitting there squeezed in at the sushi bar
And I wonder just who you are
(v2)
Your black hair is glistening despite the muted light
I hear you order in Japanese your voice so soft polite
I feel a little intimidated, like an alien out of place
Then I see you, looking back, with a smile on your face
(chorus)
I am a stranger in the Far East
Where mysteries never cease
But your simple smile suggests
There may be a little hope
For me, for me, this man from the West
(v3)
Trains are always crowded in this land of the rising sun
And the salary men work so hard long after the day is done
And I'm always tired, the jet lag is worse than I realized
But you're lovely, to me, even through these tired eyes
(v4)
No need to walk behind me, then I couldn't see your face
Or watch your every move you move with so much grace
Laying with you is heaven as I look into your eyes
Till the nights over, and the sun, rises in these Far East skies
(chorus)

Flying home I'll think of your gentleness

And treasure this chance encounter where we both acquiesced

We are two souls caught between the East and the West
