Hi MCS,
Thought I'd post up one of the song's Ive been working with my friend Gareth (or is it the other way around)...in real time actually..here in Calgary. It's very low-fi and low key thing but we thought we could do with some help from the many talents from MCS, so AndyD and Albino lent a helping hand on added guitars and drums. Then CD dashed off a quick mix and master before his wife hauled him off to shopping at Sainsbury's ;).

We thought we'd keep the sound brit-poppy!

Cheers
Andy

The band:

Gareth Colville: lyrics, acoustic guitars, lead and backing vocals
Andy Gupta: bass, orchestration, backing vocals
Andy Doherty: electric guitars including solo
Steve Smith: drums
Mark Morgon-Shaw: mix and master

All Those Years (c) Gareth Colville 2010

Sitting on my own without a care
The world is spinning away from yesteryear
I think of the people I used to trust
The sands of time have turned them into dust

So after all
you've got my picture on the wall
Just like you did
All those years ago
Repeat x 2

solo

What I would give to see you again
How life has faded and you were my only friend
Save your faith for what is here
Maybe we can test and have no fear

If i was asked to place a label on this, as we often will, i would have to call it "alternative/pop". 8)

This is top shelf stuff!  A cool, casual hook and a lovely, pale melody that would fit well with a nice sunny road trip...(To the beach perhaps!) :)

I like it! A groovy groove gentlemen...Cheers! ::)

hey Johnny Ace Fab Forge,

Thanks for dropping by for an appreciative listen.

I think I will go with your "label" - alternative/pop it is :)

Cheers
Andy

Good one Andy...it was Sainsbury actually  ;D

Gareth has a decent voice , you should get him to sing some more stuff here.

CD
We never finish a mix... we simply abandon them.
You can't polish a turd, but you can always spray paint it GOLD
Great songs are not written, they are re-witten

This is amazing how simply wonderful simplicity can sound. I could easily listen to a 10 minute version of this.
Gareth sounds great Andy - are you a "talent-magnet" where talented people are attracted to your work, or do you go searching them out. :D ;)
Great work by the whole team. 8) 8)

Hi John,

Im thrilled you liked this simple tune. Yeah, this is the essence of Gareth's style I think. AndyD and Steve played nice parts on guitar and drums, and CD dashed off a solid mix.

Ok heres the truth: Talented people would rather be miles away from me, but I hang on to their lapels like a limpet!! Therefore, I get dragged up on their way to bigger and better things :).

Cheers
Andy
