Recollections    (Copyright 2010) Paul Dempsey and Dan Clancy)

Paul Dempsey(aka PVD) had written the lyrics and I found it in his lyrics folder here on MC and got a good match for a song I was composing.
The music evolved from several ideas I had put together in the past few years.

I have a lot of fun getting a song ideas from using the DADGAD tuning on my guitar, that's  a typical Celtic tuning.

So after posting the song, Paul T Bathen (aka TallPaul) offered to sing and came up with a great rendition.

So here it is finally. Enjoy!

Lyrics: Paul Dempsey
Music written by Dan Clancy
All instruments and programming: Dan Clancy
Lead and Background vocals: Paul T Bathen

Lyrics:

v1)
Recollections of yesterday
I long for things I once had
Where echoes of our good times
Always drowned out the bad

(v2)
Recollections of you my love
Just race through my head
Every moment together
Every word you ever said

(chorus)
And it never fails
The flood of details
Right down to scent of your hair
I can recall
Every bit of it all
Closing my eyes, you're standing there
Oh, I wish you were standing there

(v3)
And everything I cherish
Has something to do with you
Every morning, every night
You're the reason for whatever I do

(bridge)
Some days are longer than others
But my recollections are my connections
To the things that once were
And I always find the good times
And the good times are what I prefer .....

(chorus)
And it never fails
The flood of details
Right down to scent of your hair
I can recall
Every bit of it all
Closing my eyes, you're standing there
Oh, I wish you were standing there

Tremendous work, first rate production and sound :)
Nothing you play is original... at some point in time, someone else thought of that, and tossed it to the side, lol!

A very fine lyric Paul :)...
The chorus was "first rate", and the verse never wavered, really nice stuff. Love Paul's vocals for this it was perfect for the genre...

Great work Mr. Clancy!
It's not the kind of music i personally listen to, but that's the great thing about MCS, one gets exposed to a variety of art made by different "kinds of artists". I've come to appreciate the amount of work and talent that go into each of these collaborations.
Nevertheless, IMO, sometimes we hit the target and sometimes we do not...I think you guys hit the mark on this one... ;D
