I had not always been confident that this song would get finished some day ... Especially because I did not get the right feel and had a hard time mixing it, although the other guys did a great job with their parts. Luckily a magic dolphin from another galaxy heard my whining and cursing, and he swam through the worm hole to help me tame this little devil. ;)

Special thanks to Mark, the Dolphin! :D  8)

Not Through With You

Lyrics: Andrew Furlong
Vocals: Mark Lee Fletcher
Guitars: Mick Loveling
Saxophone: Peter Kossits
Bass: Andy Gupta
Drums: Stephen Smith
Music by Steffen Offermann

Mixed and mastered by Mark Morgon-Shaw
Alternative mix/master by Steffen Offermann

Walking but not really looking
Watching the rain and the ripples again
Sailing some memories out on a wave
Never to come back to me

Talking but not really thinking
Waiting for warmth from a distant flame
Rescuing thoughts has become a lost cause
This is not where I should be

A rusty blade
A tourniquet
Another dark and dingy day
And what the hell would anyone say
If they knew
I'm not through with you

Staring and seldomly blinking
Thinking I see an identical face
Willing and wishing that love is still living
And not merely history

A rusty blade
A tourniquet
Another dark and dingy day
And what the hell would anyone say
If they knew
I'm not through with you

I really don't want to let the rope go
Please don't you tell me, I already know
It's time to be real
Wake up, and hope I don't feel...

A rusty blade
A tourniquet
Another dark and dingy day
And what the hell would anyone say
If they knew
I'm not through with you

Regards,
  Steffen

Wow Steffen, ???

Those dolphins are amazing creatures! "Desktop wormholes" i've read about those...but, I thought they were still science fiction...hmmm, I gotta get out more.

Nice work...The vocals are a great match to the music and the lyric is as tight as a drum. Loved the Sax, (I miss the Sax these daze), Hell the whole composition just works...It feels kinda throwback, yet cool, sleek and fresh...
Great job everyone! 8)

Thank's Steffen for letting me play on this track

Well done everyone else involved in this project, fantastic performances.  :o

I just can't stop playing this song. People I have played it to have loved it also, I have not had one bad comment about it.

Cool track guys....after a little break from it I still prefer the WETTER Mix  :)

There's all sorts of crazy-ness going on...and quite right too  >:D

CD
We never finish a mix... we simply abandon them.
You can't polish a turd, but you can always spray paint it GOLD
Great songs are not written, they are re-witten

Hey Everyone,

This turned out great - I too loved the 'cool' vibe of the song from the moment I first heard the demo.

Great playing from everyone, and kudos to the Dolphin and the Stoman for the fantastic work they put into mixing and mastering the song. We have now at least 3 version to choose from :D...why do I feel like Sheldon let loose at a Stan Lee comic convention?

Again, well done all!!

Cheers
Andy

Steve, don't be silly! You can play on ALL my songs! :)

I'm really satisfied with the results we have. All three mixes, including my own one, seem to work very well, and I think everybody should find a suitable one for himself. :)

And Andy, don't worry about those technical issues - such challenges are there to make us better! :) Seriously: I think I have learned very much about mixing in 2010, and I'm pretty satisfied with my own mixes now. Now I'm looking forward to improving my room acoustics in 2011 to get even better.

Does anybody know where the other Andy (Andy Furlong, the lyricist) is? I haven't seen him logged on for ages. He probably does not know that this song has finally made it over the finish line.

Regards,
  Steffen

Cool tune Steffen. Quite different from your usual music. I love Mark's voice on this. The lead guitar is very cool. Everyone did a fantastic job on this. Wish I got on it. Nice one!!  8)

Sounds great Steffen,

Well done to everyone, vocals are perfect for this song. Mix sounds tight and guitars are excellent.

Love it  8)
