After finally coming out of the disco closet I couldn't resist but to try and recreate the fantastic sound of Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards. This song started out as some guitar chord sequences for verse and chorus and a simple melodic line for the keys on a midi keyboard. I asked for a big keys arrangement, a Bernard Edwards style bass line, some appropriate lyrics and real drums to replace the drum machine....
What I ended up with is this completely wonderful song, which is a credit to everyone who contributed. Marks' bass line is just fantastic and completely captures the feel I wanted. John did a great job on the drums and Donna came up with a great set of lyrics. The keys/strings/effects and just about everything else including a fantastic vox, a brilliant bit of Bowie improvisation in the mid and a great mix is down to Jay. Vincent came on board and did a great alternative mix at the end as well. What can I say except thank you to all of you. A special mention to Jay(HDA) for the fantastic arrangement and all the extra stuff behind the scenes.
