This is an unashamed "Pink-Floyd-Soundalike" track. I wrote the intro some time ago, along with some lyrics and a rough chord structure. When my good friend Steve Perrett (songsparrow) joined MCS and wanted to collaborate on something I threw this at him and asked what he could do with it. After a lyric re-write and some changes to the structure, this is the final result. John Wooten(jwoo10) did a stellar job on the drums, as usual, and nailed the Nick Mason style.
Thank you, my friends, for bringing this one to life

30 Years - (c) Mike Lovering and Steve Perrett 2010
Something tells you break these boundaries
Try to flee mentalities
That would try your sanity
Hear the calling rising from the street
Are you dancing to the beat
Is the song of life complete
Hold together for the children
Hold together for your soul
Crush the walls that try to block the breeze
Cast your gaze onto the seas
Feel the earth beneath your knees
Smash the slimline TV to the floor
Keep imposters from the door
Make your homelife something more
Hold together for the children
Hold together for your soul
30 years they stayed together
Joy and tears
Through stormy weather
30 years should be forever
But she walked out...
Shadows gonna chase you for a while
Never frown, and try to smile
Were those 30 years worthwhile?
Feel the sudden itch of growing old
Take a Scratch and break the mold
Now the other side is cold
Hold together for the children
Hold together for your soul
