"This is a strange song" ... that's what Paul says during the orchestral break ... and that's what it is. ;) It started out as an instrumental synthesizer/midi piece, and Paul, Stephen and Jonathan gave life to it. Thanks for that - it was a pleasure working with you, guys!

Lyrics & Vocals: Paul T. Bathen
Drums: Stephen Smith
Bass: Jonathan Moody
Composed, arranged & mixed by Steffen Offermann

Strangers

Hello ...
Mindless meanderings
Resolute discussions
Topics of boredom and intrigue
Care to join me?

I've got an itch
Will you scratch it?
It's deep inside
So you'll have to reach.
You might think
I'm talking nasty
But it's my grey matter
That's troublin' me.

I do hear
These insistent voices
They demand obedience
I fight them hard
But sometimes I like it
I can become obsequious ...

To these voices
Whispered or screamed
Awakened or dreamed
All is not as it seems
With these voices ... of strangers

It's so darn hard
I can't get past it
Can you be my Sherlock Holmes
And solve the puzzle
Of my distractions
So I can be a regular Joe

By the way
Did your mom ever tell you
That with strangers, you should not talk?
She was smart
A regular Einstein
From sanity to here is a short short walk...
It's a short short walk.

This is flippin ace... Parisian feel with a sort of Sailor edge to it... and then a mid that wouldn't be out of place in a film ... kept me interested right to the end and the 3 listens after... excellent piece Steffen and great interpretations by all who played / sung  on it...

What a fun song! ;D  I enjoyed the lyric, especially these lines:
From sanity to here is a short short walk...
It's a short short walk  ;D

An entirely unique and really fine song in all respects. Well done, gentlemen.  :)

Haha I can relate to this kind of loonacy...wonderful track guys...magic

Ian :)

Sure you can, you're the king of loonacy, i'd say  ;D...

Damn, Steffen... Have you been to Ian's class room??!!... I love that accordion and I got a brother in law who plays a real one like a beast.

Very cool Steffen, very different, original and nuts.
The progression is easy and alike a thousand of things but, the arrangement blows me away... Damn, you're nuts  :o
Live the best you can 'cause you're gonna be dead for a long time.
Respect

Me? It's all Paul's fault - he is the madman. I'm just the composer. ;)

;D I love the "What happened to the chorus". Fun stuff. Right up Paul's alley. Good job guys. Very unusual.  8)
