One of the great things about doing online collabs is the chance to play on a whole range of styles. If you play in a real band it tends to be fairly narrowly focussed regarding musical style compared to what you can explore on this site.

This song really called for upright acoustic bass, and I only have an electric (a headless Steinberger). What I enjoyed was doing some research by listening to some recordings of upright bass on some jazz ballads (Ella Fitzgerald etc.) and trying to emulate it.  I was pleased with the results and would love to have a go at something similar again.

it was a challenge to write a song around Yolandes melody which she sang a cappella, I could hear the finished product but it didn't get there until George did his bass track, awesome bass George! It seems to come natural for you!

Afrikaans is much like Dutch Steffen. Actuallly German an Dutch is two of the main roots of which Afrikaans origionated from. So yes. If you listen a couple of times you might pick up some words you almost understand!
