Paulo revisit MIX (4-19-2015)
Paulo found the seps for this song on an old hard drive and asked if I would mind if he did a mix for himself. Not only do I NOT mind, I'm posting it!!!
Great Job Paulo!!!

Can't believe how quick this came together, and the "OVER THE TOP" auditions!!
This one just seemed to have the chemistry of a band that had played together for quite some time.
But after listening to the other songs posted here in the finished collabs, it doesn't suprise me! :) Sooooo much talent here, I'm glad to be a part of such a great board.
Thanks everyone! ;)

Devil In The Detail (McAndrew)

Verse 1
All seems normal just like it always has been
Except for patterns that are forming in the sun screen
As global tensions are reflected in the oil price
Now comes the moment when we all must stop and think twice

Chorus 1
How can we fight when most don't see, he's so invisible
When most are groping in the darkness indivisible
The marionette, he pulls the strings in horns and forked tail
it's not too late to see the devil in the detail

Verse 2
Now deals go down that seem to lack responsibility
As some are hurtled to the top with low ability
With many minds as one applied to get the shares up
Employed by others who abuse the overflowing cup

Chorus 2
How can we fight when most don't see, he's so invisible
If you look closely evidence is so unmissable
The final rider sits upon a horse that's so pale
it's not too late to see the devil in the detail

Verse 3
Master of deception always lurking in the darkness
To be exposed in his vain glory and his starkness
Soon his confirmation that there always was one better
Who did things strictly in accordance with the letter

Chorus 3
How can we fight when most don't see, he's so invisible
When most are groping in the darkness indivisible
If you look closely evidence is so unmissable
He makes all bad things look so highly hug and kissable
The marionette, he pulls the strings in horns and forked tail
As new atomic threats once started out with chain-mail
The final rider sits upon a horse that's so pale
it's not too late to see the devil in the detail

Wow!! This song kicks so much ass! Great tune! Really superb job by everybody. I love how the bass sounds. Excellent vocals, drums, keys, awesome mix, and fantastic guitar playing! My favorite thing is the synthesizer I think, but I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan ;) Nice work putting this all together Bill :)

I love this tune with or without my lill contribution.
Reading Roger's statemen it makes me wonder how different thoughts and feels are. The synth could have been out of this and, the song would be as fantastic as it is with it. I got all the seps and I've mixed them. If I mute my parts, the song roccks just hte same... Damn, music is the queen of all arts with all the possibilities involved.

Much thanks for letting me in and a bunch of congratulations to all the players.
Live the best you can 'cause you're gonna be dead for a long time.
Respect
Paulo Gomes

This was just a lot of fun to play on.  Bills riffs are the type that musicians just love to jam too.  That is why this song turned out the way it did,.. and quickly.

Great job all.  One of my favs for sure!!

Truly an awesome song, composition, arrangement, playing, mixing, etc.

I'll be keeping this song in my library and I'll be playing it often during set breaks through the PA.

Congratulations to all involved!!

Awseome how quickly this came together , it was like the big bang going off  ;D  Every now & again that seems to happen and the results are usually spectacular and this is no exception.

Hats off to everyone involved and thanks for letting me mix it .

We never finish a mix... we simply abandon them.
You can't polish a turd, but you can always spray paint it GOLD

  • Professionalism is an attitude
Another example of top quality writing, production and performance. Jwoo, those double kicks late in the song.....fantastic! I had to listen this again and again as I wanted to listen out for things I didn't catch the first time around. Well done guys!  8)

A truly explosive collab and tune as well! Always amazes how poeple get driven to dive into and pound together a song with such passion, then all the feedback back and forth to tweak it in the mix department...think this wound up being one of those 23 page collabs...alot of laughs along the way as well! :)
No specific "favourite" part...everything in this is awesome, no stone unturned or weak points...definetely among the tops in the ones I've been asked to be involved in to be proud off.
Keep rockin'!  >:D
