Yet another from the Zero Stable.

This started from a discussion with Marc (Canuk62) regarding Thin Lizzy and their celtic re-workings of old traditional story lines (Whisky In The Jar was mentioned) and I wrote a twin lead idea the following day............this is what it became :) :)

Thanks Marc, Jay, Todd and Jonathan for this 8) 8)

Here's to the next one and considering the time of the post...............MERRY CHRISTMAS to all :)

The Zeroes

Drums - Todd Vierra (Thunder)
Bass Guitar - Marc Traynor (Canuk62)
Keyboards - Jay Schankman (J)
Guitars - Steve McAndrew (Pleasuredome)
Mixing/Mastering - Marc Traynor (Canuk62)

No Lyrics or Vocals

Yeah, seem to remember the original intention was for a tune with lyrics, but everyone dove in with these cool solos and it quickly morphed into a Purple/Lizzy hybrid instrumental (way too busy to even think of squeezing lyrics in there anyway! ;D)...very "period correct"...takes you right back there, it'll be a nice break from lyrical tunes anyway.
Alot of fun guys!
Merry Christmas!

Great instrumental, guys... I LOVE IT  :D
Love the Twins... Great drumming... Super Keys... Tight Bass... At 02:26/02:51, Ritchie Blackmore will ask for Royalties on that playing style, I believe  ;)
Live the best you can 'cause you're gonna be dead for a long time.

Thanks guys....yeah Paulo, I think if you look back in the thread when Steve posted his lead, I think you've basically quoted what I said back then...I think Steve replied "If you're going to ripp somebody off, may as well be the best!" or something to that extent! ;D ;D

I did not follow the thread... That solo is just like Ritchie Blackmore, period  ;D... I love it... Steve is an old fart so he plays like the good old farts  :D... Nobody plays Like Blackmore, except for Steve, I see  :o

;D ;D ;D Yeah Paulo, anyone younger and it would be condemned as a blatant ripp off, but we can get away with it here as that was our period as well...just comes out natural, just like Steve's vox on Horizontal Rain...that's the way he sounds, we're all products of "imprinting" as Doc (omite) would say! ;D ;D ;D I think Machine Head was the first album I jammed with when I first picked-up a bass as a kid...that's why I have all these bad playing habits I can't correct at this point!  ::) (play just like the dinosaurs before all the popping and slapping started happening!)
Keep Rockin'

Very cool retro instrumental which recalls my favorite period of music.  There's a bit of prog in there too.  Nice job guys.

Hey Guys,

Always loved this one too - good to see it in the finished section.

Great mix and performance - this one makes me want to delve back into my 70s rock collection again!!!

Delightfully retro with a heavy "heep" inflection - hits all the right notes for me!

Super ensemble playing - Jay that keys solo at 1:45 is a killer, as is the unison guitar and keys part at 2:15. Bass and drums are top notch as usual - and love the nice chunky guitar sound!!

Andy
