This song has taken one year from the first draft to the final mix, and it has changed quite remarkably from a slow three track idea to a full-grown rock song with more than 40 tracks.

Thanks to all participants for your hard work and patience.

Lyrics: Katherine Wong (Casia)
Vocals: Mark Lee Fletcher (Detune)
Guitars: Andrew Doherty (Docca3)
Bass: Marc Traynor (Canuk62)
Drums: Gerald Langenfeld (Jman)
Composed & arranged by Steffen Offermann

Mix 1 by Adam Kirby (Argle)
Mix 2 by Steffen Offermann (Stoman)

I will post FLAC versions of both mixes next. If anybody needs a different format, drop me a line!

Updated version of my mix: Nothing Ever Changes - mixed by Stoman.

Neal and Marc will mix the song too. I can't wait to hear their results ... :)

Regards,
  Steffen

Great vocals Mark!!!

Usually I don't really notice differences in mixes, but this one I did.  :)

Argle's mix seemed more powerful to me, and Stoman's seemed a little darker and scarier? But both are great!

This is really quite superb, lots of changes, a musical mystery ride... intriguing song, which kept me listening to the end to see where it went next...

well done everyone...

Thanks, Ladies! :)

Tricia, you are right: Argle's mix is "louder" and thus more modern-style (its dynamic range is about 8 dB, while mine is 11 dB).

We may get yet another mix ... :)

I will leave the seps on my website for another week or two, so anybody who'd like to try his own handwriting on it is welcome.

Donna, I don't know if I have the latest version of the lyrics. I'll write it down unless somebody can post it for me (Casia?).

Regards,
  Steffen

Another excellent tune with a great cast of musicians.  I am proud to have been included.
I love both mixes. It just shows how different the feel of a song can be simply by different emphasis in mixing. Love the power and clarity of Adam's mix, and I love that Dark, Bassy feel of Steffen's mix.... glad we have both.

Steffen, I think you should add to the credit list though... your keys (and strings) play a very "key" part in this tune.

A woman is on trial for beating her husband to death with his guitar collection.
The judge says "First offender?"
The woman says "No, first a Gibson, then a fender."

Thanks for the kind words folks.  This song had some very humble beginnings but just listen to it now!  Plenty of talent on display here.
