Hi MCS,

This started out as an attempt to write an acoustic based rocker...and ended up a powerpacked country/rock/funk vehicle thanks to my very talented collaborators - who have taken this tune to a level  beyond anything I could have done on my own.

The song is a tip of the hat to the acoustic side of Led Zeppelin...and everyone in the band rose to the occasion splendidly!!

Steve, (or rather Percy  :)), joyfully climbed into a soaring vocal that I'm sure will garner a "whole lotta admiration" - he gave and asked no quarter!

Roger played some of the most tasteful slide and chicken picked lines you would ever hope to hear. His guitar is basically another voice in the song. Listen to the solo...most probably he borrowed Jimmy's Danelectro as well.

Stoney (he who doesnt believe in a 1-2 simple kick pattern) played a nice galloping drum part with a lots of muscular kick work - shades of the Hammer of the Gods.

Jay (J) came on board with some very tasty piano lines, effortlessly invoking the spirit of Ian Stewart and Nicky Hopkins. We could have called the track "Boogie with J"!

I played acoustic, electric and bass guitar, and I could not have asked for a more talented group of people to work with. It is very 'eavy and 'umbling indeed!!

The lyrics are basically tongue in cheek, and co-written with Steve. For the benefit of our american brothers and sisters on MCS, "Lorry" is what we call a "Truck" in the UK!!!

I guess most of you have gathered by now that I am rather partial to this song (I shouldnt "ramble on" like this)!! and hopefully it will be well received by the very talented and kind people at MCS!!!

Thanks for listening,
Andy

The Credits/Band:

Steve McAndrew : co-write on lyrics, vocals
Roger Wilkerson - electric and slide guitars
Ian Burrage - drums, mix/master/production
Jay Schankman - piano
Andy Gupta - lyrics and music, acoustic and electric guitars, bass guitar.

CORNELIA Verse1:
Oh Cornelia
Can't you hear me calling
It's been a while
And that's appalling
Though you tried to hit me
With your lorry
Will you please believe me
When I say "I'm sorry"

Make me happy and take me back again

Instrumental break

Verse2:
Oh Delia
Can you hear me pleading
Screaming out your name
'til my lips start bleeding
I know I've hurt you
And caused you so much pain
So please forgive me and let's start again

I'd love to have you back here with me

Chorus:
When together - it's so much better
Everything falls right back into place
Feels so good - when we're together
Everything falls back in place
There's something here you can't deny
We've got something going you and I
Can't you feel it yeah?.....

Solo

Verse3:
Ophelia
Can't you hear me choking?
Will you let me back in?
See that I'm not joking
Could you once more trust me?
Could you once more care?
Once again be happy?
With our love so rare

You're the best thing that happened to me

Repeat Chorus

Repeat Verse1

Coda:

Make me happy and take me back again
See see what have you done
I'd love to have you back here with me again
Oh Cornelia, Delia, Ophelia!!!!

What a great song! So much fun to play and I had a laugh explaining to me wife why the name kept changing throughout (presumably he doesn't remember her name and doesn't really care)  :)

How is it the best songs here seem to just fall into place in no time at all?

Great job everbuddy. Thanks for the hang. It was a gas, really a gas.

  • Write, rewrite, then write some more...
At last the NEW long, lost Zepplin tune has finally been released to the public.

Great job guys all around. I really like the guitars.

That was excellent, congrats to all involved you really came up trumps.

CD
We never finish a mix... we simply abandon them.
You can't polish a turd, but you can always spray paint it GOLD
Great songs are not written, they are re-witten
