I just listened to this and don't think we ever posted it. I love the way Rob Penned this and the group played.

Life Change -
Copyright 2008 R. Wood - S. McAndrew

Rob Wood - Music, Guitars
Steve McAndrew - Lyrics, Vocals
David Addis - Bass
Ken Grover - Drums
Nick Testa - Mix, Master

V1
Time keeps charging onwards, speeding ever faster
Little sign of slowing down
Forward keeps on spinning, DNA is winning now

V2
Looking to the future, apply another suture
Stick another plaster on
Falling decks of cards may just escape the winning one

Pre CH 1
The timer's counting down
The leaves are turning brown
It's time the choice to make
There must be no mistake

CH1
I'm gonna take my chance, gonna join you there
la-la la la la la-la-la-la life change
Time's of the essence now, no more delay
la-la la la la la-la-la-la life change
To change our point of view
Must ride the changes through

V3
This is no science fiction nor natural selection
As sure as Winter follows, follows Spring
It's just the wheels in motion, circles revolving
Devotion keeps them turning, into my mind burning

Pre CH 2
With eyes upon the age
We surely must engage
Don't let this chance pass
Let's fully raise the glass

CH2
While the sun is shining we will make some hay
la-la la la la la-la-la-la life change
Don't wait 'til tomorrow but do today
la-la la la la la-la-la-la life change
When looking back is West
Deciding Greece is best

CH3
When the pulse beats faster with urgency
la-la la la la la-la-la-la life change
Decision time is now for you and me
la-la la la la la-la-la-la life change
When one more day has gone
As still we travel on

Time to make a life change

Life, life, life, life change

Another great song from the project - Simply super!!

Great melody, and tight singing and playing guys.

Dig the bounce in the rhytrhm, and the mix is wonderful as well - clear yet punchy!!

I-pod!!

Cheers
Andy

I'm listening on the laptop in my hotel room , and I accidently stepped on the headphones so one channel sounds a bit odd. ;D

It still sounds cool though ! Pretty catchy stuff. I always love Steve's lyrics, he just has a way with words without being overly flowery or pretentious  ;)

This was the first song I heard on this site when I joined (for real ;))  After I heard this I said to myself,.."self,.. if this is any measure of what can be done at this site,... we gonna make some great music here!" ;D

Love this song guys,... thanks for hooking me in!

Thanks all, I didn't realise Nick had posted this :)

The unmistakable Rob Wood guitar sound and writing ability leaves nowhere else to go than quality, thanks Rob 8)

Thanks too Mark regarding the lyrics, I have said it before and will again, I look back at lyrics I have written and wonder who wrote them, because it doesn't feel like me. I stll feel (without getting too spiritual etc) that I am 'given' the lyric :D I just write where the song takes me and just create a story.

Strangely enough I did not obtain my English Higher Grade (although I sat it) receiving a complementary O level instead! I probably still fail at almost every turn in terms of grammar but as long as the story comes across I can cope with that!

They truly are a gift !  Maybe you should try turning your hand to writing some fiction  :)

  • Professionalism is an attitude
A really trippy groove.....I love the swirly guitar I can hear in my right ear (headphones) ...great sound guys. The vocals are the magic ingredient. I'm listening again.......ok...two guitars and then a third one joins in....panned in the middle. Beautiful harmonies these guitars are throwing out....excellent voicings Rob.

I love the groove.

Great stuff everyone!

Billy.

thanks all.

I first mixed a Rob Wood tune in 2004. I have been trying finish a CD for 5 Years!

Rob has one of the most unique styles and voicings. You add to that Steve's vocal harmonies and you have magic. I was hooked from the the first song. I am on a new push to get these unfinished gems released. The Rob Wood Project has been a pet project of mine for a long time. Time to "git 'er done!"

Thanks for the nice comments!

Very nice pop tune... Easy listening for sure but very well done.
Live the best you can 'cause you're gonna be dead for a long time.
