I totally agree Dave, Marc is an amazing man an inspiration for us all IMHO.

I sang this when Marc was literally in surgery (I think it was and if not it was very close to it) so there was plenty emotion went into the vocal, since the history of his condition did not bode well for a rosy outcome.

We are very priviledged to have you here Marc, keep the songs coming bro but not quite so fast though, as that may send ME on an early journey to the other side :) :) :) :)

Todd is another great dude :) :)

WOW! All the finished songs I've listened to today were great, and this one is no exception.

MArc and CBZ,

You guys are stars:).

A very worthy song, and a personal one at that, but the WHOLE band sounds so into it.

Good arrangement too, with the slow intro seguing into a hard rock-ballad. The Purple-Sabbath feel is deliciously obvious.

Great playing (as usual), great vocal and a blinder of a solo towards the end!!

Cant wait for this album to be released!!

Cheers
ANdy

Thanks AJ, Stoman and Andy :) :)

I broke 2 top E strings while trying to record that guitar solo, I was absolutely hammering the guitar :D :D Trying to convey tyhe angst and frustration of the situation (or at loeast the way that I would have felt given these set of circumstances!) :-[

Thanks for all the positive comments everyone. This one really means alot to myself, in that you can actually feel the emotion (anger, love,..) that went into the performance itself..it's not just a bunch of guys looking at some sheet music and playing it. I wrote this the evening of the day I met with the surgeons, who basically told myself and my wife, point blank, to write a will and prepare arrangements. The mri scan, that was floating around from doctor to doctor for months (the file got lost and we personally tracked it down and found a specialist), eventually landed in the hands of a specialist who immediately saw a 3cm tumor inside my pancreas.Anything other than 2.5cm is considered fatal and non-operable, but due to my age and general good health, they opted to toss me on the table 2 days later and aggressively operate, instead of the usual incision, they would open me up completely. The stats were 40% the op would be fatal, and over 70% within the next few days. So basically, wrote this within 5 minutes, slapped the demo drums and guitars and bass on it (original 1st take bass on this) and posted it up for the guys as I was thinking at the time may have been quite possibly the last tune I'd write..was more or less a goodbye song to the world....but in keeping with my personality, didn't want some sullen, sentimental soft type of song accepting the situation...wanted to convey my aggressive attutude that I wouldn't be dragged out of this world without a fight...would have to be pulled kicking and screaming the whole time....and this is conveyed by Steve at the end of the tune absolutely. This performance by the gang here is the real deal, as the raw emotion and aggression isn't simulated or rehearsed...it was written and played as only a situation like this could bring out of anyone...still gives me chills listening to it actually! :)
