I am having a blond moment here.  How do I clean off attachments that are on my threads?  I have looked around and can't seem to find it.   :-\

Since I normally host my own files on my server, I don't use the upload function too often and have never cleaned them up before.

Thanks guys!

I'm slowly chipping away at removing my old tracks too. You can just delete the message containing the attachment, or click on modify - advanced options and remove the attachment but still keep the message intact.

Yep what jaaman said ... modify the post and then uncheck the attachments and they go away.

I wouldn't mind the ability to remove all the attachments from my own threads. Once I get the file or have finished the song it would be nice to be able to clean up the whole thing.  :) I can only remove my own attachments at the moment.

That's a limitation of SMF, you are not allowed to edit other people's posts, and there's not really anything we can do about it :/

Come on Code Monkey - get creative!!!!!   ;D

I think you need to re-write all the code so that it will allow the thread originator to remove attachments on a thread he/she starts!   :P

And have it done by Monday!!!!!

(j/k but it would be cool)

Just drop me a line with a link and I'll clean up after everyone. Kinda like cleaning the studio after the rockstars trash the place and leave!  :P

I got this bump on my arm. Can you figure what gene controls that so I can get it fixed by Monday?

Thanks Mark,

Here's an idear.. I think it would be much easier to clear out our old files if we could see where they actually reside. One can pull up "recent posts" under your own name and it will display an abstract of text, but you don't really know if there are any files attached until you actually click on the link. If you could see visually if there are files attached, and have the option to delete these messages right from the "recent posts" page, this might help..

even if you can't see if there are files attached within the "recent post" page, just having the option to delete directly from this page would help expedite the process.

Don't know if it's doable, it's just an idea.   :)
