SHE NEVER TOLD ME

Paul Demsey (PVD) - Lyrics
Todd Swain - Lead Vocal
Robert van Driesten (ODT) - Drums
Aidan - All music - backing vocals - mix

I met her in the autumn
As the leaves were turning red
She was always in a hurry
Always seemed one step ahead
But she showed me the mountains
That before I couldn't see
And she showed me a love
She gave so unselfishly
But ...
She never told me what
To do without her

I learned to be patient
Let things run their course
She showed me how to be gentle
Not use too much force
Then taught me to be open
And let my feelings show
Then she loved me tenderly
Through the winter's snow
But ...
She never told me what
To do without her

She would always say the days moved too fast
And I would always pray that they'd last and last
She seemed to know, yes she seemed to know
That goodbye always follows hello ...

She showed me the meaning
Of love in the spring
Then displayed its beauty
And all it could bring
I met her in the autumn
We shared almost a year
They buried her Friday
Lord I wish she were here
Because ...
She never told me what
To do without her

Very nice love song ballad ! I like it, yes !
Nice sung, nice arrangement. Nice Vocals too !
Don't know if this is done for to pitch it to the market or for fun.
Sounds dated to me , sounds like a song of the 70'ties. Vocals have exactly
the sound of it and the reverb specially too.

Cheers, Steve

I recall when I left that you were really good. I love the music you make.
This is really cool. The vocals are strong and have character.  8)
Great lyrics and it sort of has a slow Country feel. The harmonica
is really cool and the background vocals and harmonies are soft
and perfect. Sort of like the Eagles. The group that is.
I think I hear an acoustic guitar too. Sounds nice.  8)
Not sure who played what. Perhaps the bass could have been
tighter had more of stronger role. Maybe it's just my system.
There are some nice bits at 4:17. The string part there could have been extended better and perhaps using a better strings would have helped as well.

Great tune and I love it any ways.

Wow Aidan man! Beautiful! Sorry for my very very very late reaction but I didn't see this thread till just now. Great music, greatly played (all instruments, yeah, also the drums :-), great lyrics and great mixing. Did I forget anything?

Cheers
