Back Then

When I saw you at the Dairy Queen that day
I thought you were the most beautiful thing I had ever seen
And I told myself then that you'd be my girl

A quick stop at the Gas-N-Go
Then it's off to Beaver Lake in my GTO
She wasn't much to look at but I sure do miss that old car

I finally got the nerve to ask you out
The queen of my dreams and there wasn't a doubt
The future was bright and laid out like a blanket for you and me

We were young then the wind in our hair
Cruising down the highway like we hadn't a care
Isn't it funny how simple it was back then

Friday night dances and a swim in the pool
A matinee movie skipping school
Sure it funny how simple it was back then

I played baseball you played in the band
We went to the prom walking hand in hand
They voted us king and queen that night how bout that

The graduation trip we made to the beach
Everything was possible and nothing out of reach
Life was wide open and there for the taking for you and me

We were young then the wind in our hair
Cruising down the highway like we hadn't a care
Isn't it funny how simple it was back then

Friday night dances and a swim in the pool
A matinee movie skipping school
Sure it funny how simple it was back then

(Break)

We were young then the wind in our hair
Cruising down the highway like we hadn't a care
Isn't it funny how simple it was back then

Friday night dances and a swim in the pool
A matinee movie skipping school
Sure it funny how simple it was back then

Old hotrods and some good rock and roll
Hugging at the drive in so we didn't get cold
Isn't it funny how simple it was back then

Reading field and stream in the barbers chair
Taking our turn on the Bullet at the county fair
Sure is funny how simple it was back then

Sure is funny how simple it was back then

Hey guys (& gal), thanks for all the comments and listening in.  :) I think this turned out pretty well. Can't go wrong with all the great talent around here. I still can't believe Todd managed to get all those words in. I actually find myself singing along with it so it must be catchy.  ^-^

Great chemistry on this one, I thought.. the song just seemed to emerge, as we all fed it to help it along. Not to take anything away from you guys, you are all the best at what you do! Thanks for letting me play along. I look forward to more.  :)

Yep. Great job on the drums as per usual John. Always a pleasure using your tracks. Davidinoz did a fantasic job on the mix. Good group of guys to work with. Which reminds me I have another with Todd that I'd better get to. Just needs mixing.  :)

Hey it turned out great...really nice mix Dave.

Sounds like the theme to some all American movie.....Grease 3 anyone ??

It sounds so tight , like you were all in the studio together.

We never finish a mix... we simply abandon them.
You can't polish a turd, but you can always spray paint it GOLD
Great songs are not written, they are re-witten
