Paul came up with this scintillating lyric, which I set to music.

Many of the MCS stalwarts played on this collaboration.

Steve handled the first rate vocals.

Frank and Doc supplied the out of the world guitars, while trading licks for the main solo.

Thunder provided the big hammer, while Paulo supplied the atmospheric keys part melding everything together.

Paulo also chipped in with a solid mix.

Super Hadron Collider (Paul Dempsey/Andy Gupta)

bpm=98

(v1)
Am/A5
Who could have imagined
That something so tiny
Could mean so much
It’s something - that you can't feel
Something you can't sense or touch

(v2)
A puzzle part that's missing
Shielded for a long time
It's place of hiding is now known
A burst of light - for a moment
And its colors will be shown

(pre-chorus)
D
Back to the beginning - before (the) worlds were spinning
Am/A5
Fulfill a need to rush at (the) speed of light
D
A glimpse never lasting - all dots connecting (2nd time: every bit expanding)
E                                                                  E  D
A journey in search of relief (2nd time: belief)

(chorus)
A5      C       D       G   A5
Super Duper Hadron Collider
A5         C            D   G   A5
Hidden away by a master thief
Super Duper Hadron Collider
A collision of knowledge and belief

Interlude: D5

(v3)
With a thousand eyes watching
Each one never blinking
Two bosons race to collide
There's two keys to open the door
To see what's beyond the other side

love this tune.
great performances by all.
mix sounds good - except...the drums sound a bit weak in the mix; especially during the chorus.
just could come up a bit.
but in all it sounds great.
rock-n-roll ain't pretty --- that's why they picked us to play it.

I was hooked on this song from the very first time I listened to Andy's demo.  Great writing... both lyrics and music!!

I'm very proud to be a part of this.  I think both versions turned out great!

Thanks for letting me play,
Frank

Everyone:

This is really very good, very catchy.  Steve, you sound great.

I remember when Andy asked me to write something about the Hadron Collider.  I knew very little about it, actually nothing, so I looked it up.  The lyric came very easy once I understood more about it.

Andy, perhaps you should send it to the European Org. for Nuclear Research; they may find it interesting.

Paul
