Another segment of the Time Trap suite. It's more like a suite of mini pieces of music.

Brilliant write and performances from Bob, George, Mark and Billy. Special thanks to Billy, who arranged and mixed this song wonderfully well.

Andy

The Construct  (lyrics by Robert Wood  © 2014)

bpm=68/136bpm

  Em
I live in a world of illusion
      C
overcome by the powers that be
      Em
not sure what's real or a delusion                                    (VERSE)
        C
can't trust what I think my eyes see...
              Am                  Em
From the virus in this program
G              Am
reality can change
    Am     G        C
rewriting fragile software                                               (BRIDGE)

       D                      Em
The outlook is rather strange.....

Solo1 – same chords as verse and bridge

Riff: Dm D figure tab:
E-------------------------------------
B-------------------------------------
G----------------------------------------
D-------------3----------- 5-----4------
A---3----5------ 3----5------5----------
E-------------------------------------

Holographic alibis are always on your side
Do you believe? - until you open your eyes                             (CHORUS)
There are things in this world not easily seen
         Dm F               Dm C
Try to believe , try to recognize –
Dm D fig
it could be a lie...it could be a lie

Inside the construct , the universe designed
the perfect illusion need not be defined
As part of the construct, we must co-exist
never seeing never knowing
how the pieces fit...how the pieces fits

Em figure tab:
E---------------------7-------------------7--------------------7-------------------8-----
B---------------8-------------------8--------------------7-------------------8----------7-
G---------9-------------------9-------------------8---------------------8-----------
D-----9-------------- ---9-------------------9---------------------9--------------
A------------------------------------------------------------------------
E-------------------------------------------------------------------

Em figure
Living with this daily confusion -
over run by technology
not sure if there's a conclusion                                          (VERSE)
or if I'll ever be free

must be an issue with the hard drive
information erased
corrupted from the outside                                          (2nd bridge)
it all seems to be a waste......

Solo2 : Em and F#m riffs

Typical example (Em run for bass):

G---------9----7-----------------------------------------------------------
D-------------------9---8---7---6-----------------------------------------
A---------------------------------------7----5------------5-----7-7------
E------------------------ --------------------------7----------------------

Repeat chorus

Outro: Em C Am G F C/E G/D A Em

The Crew:

Robert Wood: Lyrics
Billy Playle: Arrangement, guitars, keyboards, mix/master
George Williams: Vocals
Mark Cole: Drums
Andy Gupta: Original music, bass

superb!

I believe this is on a par with the best commercial prog rock created today, and I am very proud to be part of it :)
George can often be found playing stringy things, and singing...

hey George,

Yes, it turned out pretty special. Super vocal from you, very professional sounding.

Thanks for advising me to stay with the bassline  as it was.

Andy

Absolutely great... I love the 70's prog rock and that's how this one sounds to me.

Damn, that solo sounds like a moog and Rick's Wakeman fingers  :o

... That's superb, guys.

Live the best you can 'cause you're gonna be dead for a long time.

hey Paulo,

Thanks I am glad you liked the proggy concept. I am sure Billy will be pleased with the Wakeman comparison.

We should do a song together!

Andy
