May I present to you, Ladies and Gentlemen, another cross-site collaboration called "Game Of Life"!

Here is the original thread in Studio A:
http://www.musicianscollaboration.com/forum/index.php?topic=11014.0

The lyricist is Mike Mantecon from Kompoz. There are two versions of the song, version A with Andy Gupta on bass, and version B with Victor_HP from Kompoz (who would like to stay anonymous, but I am allowed to reveal his first name, Alberto). The vocals and the guitars were performed by Mr. "Guitar Dude".

Enjoy! :)

I had fun tracking and recording for this song. It turned out pretty good for a quick collab.

Good to see this one completed. I
Great performances from Steffen, GuitarDude and Raul.

Thanks for letting me play, and sculpting the bass sound. I guess this is one collab where the bass playing is not too bad.

I wasn't sure how the whole song would sound after mixing so I didn't comment much on the performances until the final mix. The bass on both versions sound good and I'm happy with the final result.

The drums were played well and added a lot to the song. I really liked some parts the drums added in the guitar solo near the end of the song. Excellent.

not to take away from GuitarDude's guitar playing...he might have to change his name to VocalDude.
he does both absolutely fantastic.

rock-n-roll ain't pretty --- that's why they picked us to play it.

Nice guitar sound, Guitar dude... Sounds a bit like the Synth guitar by Steve Hackett back in the 70's

Thanks Paulo. I wasn't sure who Steve Hackett was until I googled his name and realized he was in the band Genesis. I like that band.

Thanks Paulo. I wasn't sure who Steve Hackett was until I googled his name and realized he was in the band Genesis. I like that band.

Yes he was in the Genesis golden era, with Peter Gabriel on vocals...

... At that time he was already using some Synth by Roland on his guitar with a sweet sound like the one you're using on this song.

I used a fender mustang amp mic'd with an SM57 and a fender tele to get that sound. Not sure what preset I used however using the fender fuse software that comes with the amp I have access to tons of sounds and presets. I highly recommend these amps.

Never heard that song before Mark. I liked the guitar parts in the tune even though they sound more like synth than guitar it has a decent sound to it. Good production on that song.
