Here is my first ever collaboration
and with the wealth of talent that is found on this site it was a rather painless and smooth process due to the very talented people who chose to help me out and add their services to this project.
I tentatively posted up my first ever song with my first ever mix and before I could sit back a wonder what the hell I was doing, Mike (snowdoguk) had offered up his talents as had AndyG, the ball was rolling before my feet had touched the floor, we were collaborating!
Mike really brought this song alive with some excellent punky in-yer-face guitar work (love the noodly bits
)
AndyG brought some solid and funky bass work (love the runs
)
And before I knew it my song had taken on a whole new life....for the better. It's amazing how different it sounded with people who
can actually play the guitar.
Then the mix request's came in. Thank you to Mark Shrider (rightonthemark), Nick T, and Steffen. Snowdoguk did a mix as well.
Unfortunately Nick T has had laptop problems and has said he will post his version up as soon as he can. Steffen said from the start that his version is just for his pleasure so I am not sure if he will post his up into the finished section.
What we do have are two excellent mixes by Snowdoguk and rightonthemark. Then there is my version.
Michael Woodford: Guitar and solos
Andy Gupta: Bass guitar, BV
Stephen Smith: Lyrics, Music, Vocals, BV, Drums
Mixes: Michael Woodford; Mark Shrider; Stephen Smith
STOP THE ROT
Stop the rot, can't stop the rot. x4
verse:
We care too much, it fuels our rage.
Enraging our beliefs so we cannot see what is at hand.
We are to trivial, we tow the line,
But we need to agree to disagree this is not right.
Prechorus:
The scales tip out of sight,
Austerity has turned off the light.
Chrous:
Stop the rot, can't stop the rot. x4
(and don't we know it)
Verse2:
Where is the fight, we were once known for?
The whores of greed rape our land (its) obscene we're left to pay.
We can't see the wood, for all the trees
I can see the theme in the scheming machine it's so passé
Prechorus:
It's time for you all to wake up,
instead of acting like you've run out of luck.
Chorus:
Stop the rot, can't stop the rot. x4
(and don't we know it)
