Some of you know I take part in a songwriting challenge each February (FAWM at fawm.org). The challenge is to write 14 songs in 28 days. My first quick lyric there was a tongue-in-cheek pop-rock thing that I asked one of my fellow-FAWMers to collaborate on. I think he did a great job. I hope you enjoy this bit of tom-foolery.

Gimme Your LoveV1
I was sick and tired of everything
When I called last night from jail
But I know you get up early
Feed the cat and read your mail
Lift
Now I'm hopin' for clarification
On our present situation
Chorus
Will you gimme, gimme, gimme gimme
Gimme your love?
When I'm out of here
Will my word be enough?
I'll stay out of trouble
Oh tell me on the double
You'll gimme, gimme, gimme your love
V2
Was a fool to hit that other guy
Knew he had some kind of plan
But I hated how he watched you
Hopin' he could be your man
Lift
Now I'm lookin' for edification
Just a tiny declaration
Chorus
Will you gimme, gimme, gimme
Gimme your love?
When I'm out of here
Will my word be enough?
I'll stay out of trouble
Oh tell me on the double
You'll gimme, gimme, gimme your love
Bridge
Wooah woooah woooah
Turnin over a new leaf, baby that's me
Gonna uproot the whole damn tree!
Chorus
Will you gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme
Gimme your love?
When I'm out of here
Will my word be enough?
I'll stay out of trouble
Oh tell me on the double
You'll gimme, gimme, gimme your love
