Dm       C        Am
I wasn't ready
                        Dm
but I caught your eye

I had been seeing
                Dm
some other guy
                  C    Am
Found myself torn

But The tides were against me,
                 Dm      A
and I had to go

     C                             Dm
But You were everybody's fun guy
   Am C             Dm
A real Good time Charlie

I couldn't see you settling ...
          Dm
for just one

Dm/Dm7x2

When our paths crossed
later on
One year wiser
2 hearts strong
A few good memories,
we'd part again
Never together but
ever friends

You were everybody's fun guy
a real Good time Charlie
with pretty women at every turn
And everyone loved you
So cool, so charming
I couldn't see you settling
for just one

Did I play with your feelings?
A#                      C
Didn't you toss my love around?

You wanted the real thing?
       C                 A
but I saw you as a clown.

The Good time Charlie
With A pretty woman
in every town

 settling down
G                 A
maybe you'll never

Tricia, the MP3 is from a very old version. I think you'd better replace that. :)

I'll remove it in a couple of days.

The file size of the APE looks ok.

i like the song.
...but...
the vocals sound retrained.
especially when it kicks into the chorus from the more mellow intimate verse.
plus, even though i don't usually like vocals way out front, i always think Tricia's vocals needs to be a little more out front than most.
love the lead guitar --- killer tone.
overall it's good tune and a good mix --- i just like to hear more of Tricia.
rock-n-roll ain't pretty --- that's why they picked us to play it.

The song is not really mixable, Mark. Too many serious issues with the seps. But you are right about the vocals, they should cut through the mix a little better. I clearly overdid the mix-rescue attempt there.

I'll fix that, but that will be my last and absolutely final tweak. I actually only did this mix because Mark seems to be unavailable, and you all have been waiting for so long already.

  Steffen

But, just to make that clear: I do like the song itself and the performances. :)

I really appreciate everyone for contributing to this! An old friend found me on facebook and saw that I was a songwriter and asked me to write a song about him.
I don't think this is one of my best writings, but I'm glad it's done,

Sometimes we gotta make mediocre songs to get to the good ones! ;) I'm happy with it as it is.

And my friend Mike thinks it came out great! He had only heard my original crappy unplugged version haha!

Hi Steffen,

The crunch guitar during the chorus is surely too loud :)

I don't even know if I used the correct seps ...

Tricia, the songwriting is not bad at all! The song itself is not the problem IMO. However, I must admit that I still have great difficulties in understanding the structure of the arrangement. I cannot quite make out the main elements of the song, and that's essential for a mix to work.

I'll give it one last try.

Regards,
  Steffen
