Something new. A sort of mixture of soul and pop

Thank you for taking the time to listen

When The Vow Breaks
Lyrics - April Knoll
Music production and vocals - Billy Playle

1st verse
There was never a more perfect night
My heart skipped a beat when I looked in your eyes
We laid under the moon, you were in my arms
We said "I love you," wished upon shooting stars
That we'd say our vows in front of family and friends
Pray our love would last forever, that dream has come to an end

Chorus
When the vow breaks, my love will fall
She'll lay by my side, not knowing at all
The secret I keep waiting at home
But my heart the wind has blown

2nd verse
One more night passes and we don't speak
Tears fill your eyes as I turn around to leave
I've given up on us, you can't change my mind
Time to move on and leave 15 years behind
You can't tell me this is how we're supposed to live
How can our love pull us through if we have no more left to give?

Repeat chorus

Nice one Billy... Yeh that's a mix of pop and soul, indeed... Nice brass section, as usual.
Live the best you can 'cause you're gonna be dead for a long time.
Respect

So its a sunny day in 1976 and this song comes on the radio.

It's Billy and Soulbillies..with their new hit single.

He's on top of the pops with his afro and flares and sideburns.

Fantastic performance and production..spot on. It brought a smile to my face.

Marvellous!

Andy

Thanks guys.

Hall and Oates.....that will do for me. I CAN go for that. 8)

Yes Andy, 1976 was a good year. "Jaws" came out in the cinema, "Summer Breeze" from the Isley Brothers on the radio and "Kojack" was the top detective on TV. I was young without a care in the world (sigh).

i always thought summer breeze was seals and croft.
and funny when i think of 1976 i think of kiss destoyer; thin lizzy jailbreak; nazareth hair of the dog; etc...
...oh and...
the waltons, little house on the prairie and happy days on tv.
and rocky, bad news bears and king kong at the movies.

Frank

He had a few other peoples share too  ;D

I found my school reports today from 1984 :

Music:  Effort D ( the worst ) Attainment: 4 (the worst)

Mark's entire attitude is wrong. He is extremely lazy and reacts to being reprimanded in a resentful childish way.
He will gain nothing from this subject until he puts something into it.   ::)
