This one started as an instrumental song called "Bricks And Stones". It took a looooong time, and I'm afraid some of the collaborators were sure it would never get completed at all, but never say never - here is the final result! :)

Thanks to Paul, Peter, Bobby, Jerry and Walter. With your help this little synthesizer idea became a real song in the end. :)

Vocals, Vocal Melody & Lyrics: Paul T. Bathen
Acoustic Guitar: Peter Kossits
Solo Guitar: Bobby Clohessy
Drums: Gerald Langenfeld
Bass: Walter Tokich
Composed, arranged & mixed by Steffen Offermann

Echoes Of My Voice
(Paul T. Bathen)

Anybody out there listening
Anyone at all
Any face I can count on
Any friend to call

I (can) hear the echoes of my voice haunting me
So sad and scared it makes me cry

Loneliness is upon me
That savage beast tears at my soul
I lay down my defenses
This battlefront took it's toll

I (can) hear the echoes of my voice haunting me
So sad and scared it makes me cry

Anybody, anyone at all ...
Anybody, anyone at all ...

Sounds great Steffen. The mix sounds really nice. I'd say it's one of your better mixes. Practice makes perfect eh.  :) Good job!!

After listening with head phones I did two minor changes:

1. Moved the brass sound to the left hand side
2. Made the intro organ fade earlier (before the first verse starts)

I will probably do two more modifications, both panning-related.

Hey Steffen, I hadn't been around enough to know you posted this in Finished Works! It was my pleasure working with everyone on this song!

Guys, I have new toys, and I had to try them on some of my finished songs. Here is a two-hour-rough remix of "Echoes Of My Voice".

I must say that I like it A LOT better than the original version. It sounds as rough as you would expect after (even less than) two hours, but that's exactly what I like about it. :)

Regards,
  Steffen

Echoes of the human condition, eh?  ;)

Lovely music, and a fine performance all round. Good job.  ;)

No problem, Paul. I know it is rough (I only spent 2 hours mixing this version).

I'll probably polish it some more when time allows. And when the guy who moved in above me finally stops hammering and drilling all evening long. He NEVER takes a break. Not 5 seconds without extreme noise. I have a headache ...

And I cannot hear ANYTHING AT ALL except the noise he makes. Impossible to listen to any music or to use the phone. :(

Well ... it has been quiet for about 1 minute now. Hope springs eternal ... :)

Regards,
  Steffen
