Wow, that's certainly scary stuff!
I'm not well versed in the genre...for new stuff my definetion of heavy is bands like Disturbed (hey, I'm 46...give me a break
...most of my kids' friends parents listen to barry Manilow!
), but I'll add my 2 cents on it anyway!
First 1:33 the soundscape is absolutely breathtaking....just fantastic. Once the gtrs and drums/bass kick in (where it gets heavy), in my opinion, the sound falls flat on it's face. I had it cranked REALLY loud, with a 200 watt 10" sub at my feet, and the house SHOULD have been shaking..there was decent punch from the electronic kick, but the bass certainly wasn't there, and I do find (on most of the stuff in this genre, death metal,..) they like the guitars very thin sounding, like they are going through a 15 watt amplifier instead of a 100watt marshall. All the ingredients are there, all the tracks are excellent...I think it's just a matter of utilizing compression/comparisons with Harbal, mastering software/limiters to get the whole spectrum in the sound, as well, maybe pull back on the intro and outro (volume wise), and boost it in the heavy section to accentuate the heavy section, so it goes "pow" when it kicks in...as it is here, it actually sounds like the volume decreases when it gets heavy. Of course, being a bass player, I'm biased because I like lots of bottom end shaking the place...but find that's the missing ingredient here..it needs kick
But as I said, the playing, creativity and whole mood and vibe are fantastic IMO, just needs to be heavier!
Keep rockin'!
