Bob's contemplative lyric set to music by the old firm of Smithie, Henry and myself.
Billy and SteveC contributed stellar parts on piano and drums respectively to complete the sound.
Smithie set up a wonderful vocal, and Henry was brilliant with his guitar parts, arrangement ideas and a wonderful mix/master.

Cheers

The Trip    Lyric: Robert Wood © 2015. Music: Andy Gupta/SmithC/Henry Mittnacht

bpm=86
Intro: Piano D chord

D                 A
It's  alright , I'm okay
Em                                 G   A
thanks for your concern , anyway
      D                          A
but it's been a long , a long hard road
   Em                               G        A
I know I've got to make it on my own

Interlude: D C#dim B G

D                 A
C'est la vie , come what may
Em                          G         A
tomorrow's going to another day
      D                           A
I'm gonna take a trip, a one way trip
   Em                                   G     A
I know that I have to make it all alone

Bm
Now I have to take a chance
      F#m
and learn to face my fears-
           G                                D
while I hide myself behind this strife           (chorus)
Bm                 F#m
sooner or later it must come to pass
      G                                Em
that we'll all lose somebody dear
     G                                         A     G A/G  A/Bm A/D
it's sad I know , but it's a part of life

SOLO (same chords as verse)

C                               G
Miracles are just for believers     ( bridge)
D                              A
so I thought so yesterday.....
C                            C#dim
now it's up to all the leaders
D                         F#      G A G A/Bm A/D
who don't care anyway...yeah

It's okay  , I'm alright
such a shock to see the light
but it's been a long , a long hard climb
and I had to do it all alone.....

Now I have to take a chance
and learn to face my fears-
while I hide myself behind this strife           (chorus)
sooner or later it must come to pass
that we'll all lose somebody dear
it's sad I know , but it's a part of life

A woman is on trial for beating her husband to death with his guitar collection.
The judge says "First offender?"
The woman says "No, first a Gibson, then a fender."
