Forbidden Fruit - TWO versions (one rock, one pop)

Time to post the final mixes for this song.

Kim Noble wrote the lyrics and the vocal melody for the pop version. Mark Shrider adapted that melody for his rock version. Here are both!

good to see this one in the finished forum.
I like both versions.
turning a pop song into a rock song is fun for me; especially when it's already a good pop song.
my singing sounds like squawking compared to the sweet smooth voice of Kim.

the sonar mix seems to have a little more energy.
and my only criticism of either mix is i prefer my voice to sit into the mix a little more and not so far out front.
but that's just my own insecurity over my voice.

thanks for giving me the opportunity to work a little rock and roll into this tune.

Interesting to hear how the same song can end up sounding completely different.

Well done on both versions..The Sonar mix of the Rock version sounds better to me but I think the pop version has the edge in terms of how the song is presented ( for my own taste )

A good lesson in how you produce a song in many ways.

That was interesting. I like the idea of 2 very different versions. Both are done very well but I draw more to Henry's funky guitars. Both are good though.

I think Both versions work well.  I really like Kim's vocal delivery, and Henry's, Nile Rodgers-esque, funky guitar work (Great stuff Henry) of the pop version.  And I also like mark's unmistakable vocals and the in-your-face guitar sound of the rock version.
