This is a song I wrote a while back after watching too many news reports about injured soldiers returning from Iraq.  I've never sat in a hospital room contemplating how my life suddenly changed in the blink of an eye, but this song represents my attempt to see life from the point-of-view of those service men and women who have suffered life-changing injuries.  I dedicate this song to them and to their families, with heart-felt thanks to all who put themselves in harm's way out of a sense of duty, love of country and selfless service.

I would also like to credit the following contributors, without whose efforts this song could not have emerged:

Curtis Downey - Lead Vocal
TomD - Pedal Steel
Davidinoz - Bass
Jessica Ford (Nashville singing coach) - Backing Vocals
Stevie Blacke - Fiddle
Frank Basile - Drums
Rob Talbert (me) - Acoustic guitar

Big credits go to CosmicDolphin who mixed and mastered the song.

I am happy to say I wrote the words and music - every song is a gift, they come from someplace outside us, and I am grateful to have been the delivery conduit for this one.

Rob Talbert

Great song Rob

Glad to be a part of it , I think it came out real nice.  Definitely benefited from re-recording a couple of the parts, it was well worth the effort.

We never finish a mix... we simply abandon them.

Great songs are not written, they are re-witten

Very nice folks. Sounds like it was very well produced. Everything is clear and crisp. The vocal stand out nicely. yes it has a Country feel. I am not an expert when talking about Country music but I have written a few of them. Probably by mistake but I do admire Country music.  :-X

The lyrics sound "very well written", it would have been nice if you could post them here on this thread.
The acoustic is solid.. ie: the picking is more or less perfect & on the money. The vocals are on pitch, and in your face. That's up rub. Great  8) The drums if not already mentioned, are crisp, timed well, & everything tone wise including the performance  sounds on-track.  8)

I like the melody and everything that was set against it. The only thing as a musician, ie: "all the other title one thinks of", of "them selves", and then lives, to me is the singing melody... I am/have been really hard on myself for that. I would have varied it somewhat in verses. Some lines seem a tad to much the same. But then the weight of the story carries the song.. or does it not...  But in any event perhaps ponder the thought of giving tunes a slight altercations from time to time. That brings me to "originality", well truely that is a whole other concept and discussion. Someone said "I heard it all before".

That brings me to conclude that there are "very" sad events in life. Paul McCartney stated in an interview that it's just a "few" bad apples. But it's actually many bad apples and a "deep" routed core that is in human beings. "Not All"  :-X if it were "All" this world would be not worth to b in outer space somewhere.

Stay Cool and keep writing great tunes.

Tubes  ;)
