Another version of this was already posted here by the (main) composer (jimbo/Jim Burridge) but I wasnt really satisfied with the mix itself and the "timing" in particular bc it originally wasnt done with a click.
No, click isnt always reqired but since we all are spread around the globe it really helps, getting all tracks as tight together as possible.
Jim played in an open D tuning with a set capo to get this guitar lines, that used to backbone his version. So first of all I had to figure what and how he did that
. Then I had to play that
with click
...
I allowed me to add a piano, which now is the backbone of the song along with the guitar.
I have to thank Steffen/stoman, Bill Heinowsky/bill, Paulo for helping me with the mix. Very much appreciated, guys!! Common GirlMusic: Jim Burridge, Henry Mittnacht
Lyrics: Johnny
(vs)
Sunlight pours thru my window panes
As life outside begins
On the floor, scattered clothes remain
I feel your warmth against my skin
(ch)
Common Girl
sleep-on peacefully
In my poor common bed
In a world of faceless want and greed
You are finer than the thoroughbreeds
(vs)
In time of woe, When I become unsure
An the wrong way feels so right
Somehow you know
An' with your common words
You shine me a brighter light
(ch)
Common Girl
sleep-on peacefully
In my poor common bed
(br)
Diamond rings
And golden things
Are trinkets in your eyes
Your common mind
Is too sublime
Since You see behind those lies
Somehow you know
An' with your common words
You shine me a brighter light
