Finished Works / The Users (Dom and PVD)
« Last post by Mimmo on July 31, 2024, 10:23:03 AM »

I think this one it's done... Thanks Paul for your lyrics!

Lyrics Paul Dempsey

Music-Vocals and production  : Dom Mercurio (Mimmo)

The Users   (PVD)
(v1)
It may surprise you
When they cry to you
But what do they hide
Then they hook you
After they took you
For a long. long ride

(chorus)
They are the users
Down deep losers
Needing to give pain to feel
You are the answer
To feed their cancer
But it’s nothing you can heal

(v2)
It may surprise you
That they lie to you
Like nothing is wrong
You are their latest mark
Just someplace to park
They won’t be staying long

(chorus)
 They are the users
Down deep losers
Needing to give pain to feel
You are the answer
To feed their cancer
But it’s nothing you can heal

 (bridge)
Always on the move
No need for you to approve
You’ll know when they’re gone
When they’re gone

(chorus)
They are the users
Down deep losers
Needing to give pain to feel
You are their answer
To feed this cancer
But it’s nothing you can heal

Great Job everyone!

I think it came out great!

and wav file for version 2 with Dave's guitar solo

Bob Wood's excellent lyric set to music.
This collaboration was started a while ago, but the finished result made the wait worthwhile.

Excellent performances from everyone, and again a special shout out to Nick for the wonderful mixes. It was especially nice to have Nick on guitars.

Two versions are posted, one with NickT's guitar solo, and other with Morsekode's cool guitar solo.

Step away from ambition
                    C                            C   A
before it steals your soul

with greedy implications
                    C                            C   A
that soon will take control

Disregarding bad intention
before you try to play
without an intervention
you have to step away

D                                                                   G
The world has become a roll of the dice

sometimes you get lucky
                                           C
sometimes you think twice
     Bm

I was able to complete this even after a bit of problem with the tracks. I lost the whole fiolder but got it back  and here it is

 Paul (PVD) Lyrics
And Me with the rest of it!

The Fog (PVD)
v1)
The fog rolls in
As I’m looking out
Barely seeing
The far horizon
Shades of grey
Rest against the sky
But all I see now
Is a bigger gap

(chorus)
Like passing thoughts
I struggle to catch you
You’re fading away
From my view
I am breathless
Chasing after you

(v3)
I’m lost in that fog
A soupy dull grey
The distance grows
And you drift away

(chorus)
Like passing thoughts
I struggle to catch you
You’re fading away
From my view
I am breathless
Chasing after you

(bridge)
Fate has played its hand
And we both understand
But I’m sorry for our tomorrows

(chorus)
Like passing thoughts
I struggle to catch you
You’re fading away
From my view
I am breathless
Chasing after you

Wow! Great job Nick! I couldn't even come close to that!
As always, a pleasure working with all talented people involved.
I love this place and all the awesome people that I have kept it going.
I would love to see a reunion here someday, though some aren't around anymore.
But definitely some great memories!!
Keep it going guys!!
