Title: Let it Out
Post by: Tricia41 on March 02, 2014, 11:37:34 AM
Here is a song I wrote a year or 2 ago when my husband was mad at me.  ;D

Thanks to Andy who encouraged me to get it into studio A.

Zax did an awesome job of arranging and producing this track in the style of a Halestorm song, which I love.

Andy and Smurf added their awesomeness as well!

Frank Zax- Guitars, Arrangement and Mix
Andy Gupta- Bass
Smurf- Drums
Tricia- Vocals

Let it Out
Tricia Dovidio(c)2012

verse 1:
I'm not feeling the love
you're not telling me why
I am your only one
but I can see in your eyes
you've put up that wall
are you believing a lie?
baby, why?

prechorus:
there's no communicating
it's your heart,
you're insulating

chorus:
Let it out
let me in
let me know
what got under your skin
if something's broken
we're the glue
pull me closer, make me one with you
just let it out

verse 2:
darlin time is too short
to be living in pain
were you expecting much more?
you know we all make mistakes
now your anger is pushing
me farther away
what do you say?

prechorus:
start communicating
cos my heart
is breaking

chorus:
Let it out
let me in
let me know
what got under your skin
whatever's broken
we're the glue
pull me closer, make me one with you
just let it out

bridge:
we made some promises back when we began
we had a deal,and we're sticking to the plan

don't let your love turn cold
over a bump in the road

solo:

prechorus:
pride leads us to hating
when it's love
we should be making

chorus:
Let it out
let me in
let me know
what got under your skin
if something's broken
we're the glue
pull me closer, make me one with you
just let it out

Great tune and performance, super write from Tricia, a very cool arrangement from Zax.

Tric's vocals are first rate, Frank's guitar work is blinding (love the sound of the rhythm gtr and of course the solos), and Smurf's drums keep up the energy level perfectly.

Thanks for letting me play on this rocker!

A very decent song, guys.  8)

That's one of the strongest vocals I've heard  from you, Tricia.....sterling performance (I would have liked some backing vox at the chorus?)

Nicely produced, Frank with a balanced mix that sounds fab in my cans.

Excellent collaboration.

Great song, great production, great performances...

... That ending on a major chord: GREAT idea!!!

The first song that I remember caughting my attention with a similar situation was - "Soldier of fortune" - from Deep Purple, when I was a young boy and my band at that time played it...  Damn, I'm talking about 1979 or 1980... Gee, I'm getting old...

... Anyhow, it feels like there's a sad mood all along and then, in the end, with that major chord, the feeling is that there's some hope  ;D ::) ::)...

... Hmmm, maybe I'm nuts, uhu?
