Here's another take on Out of The Darkness - this time a rock ballad version.

Thanks to everyone involved - specially Paulo, who apart from his outstanding keys work, put together a stellar mix.

Andy

Out Of The Darkness (SmithC/AndyG)

Girl -     come out of the darkness
Girl I know you can
You can believe in me
Treat me like no other man
You can rest your worried mind

Girl - come out of the darkness
Girl I know you can
I can show you the daylight
When you feel alone at night
Just like eyesight to the blind

Shades of laughter to hide yourself from pain
How can I show you that I will always remain
Shades of sorrow written over your face
You can't hide from me even if you don't you express
Girl

Bridge:

Can I explain it can I get through to you
Your understanding of the things that I do
Do you get the feeling that you know that we share
Do you believe that I'll be there?

Solo1 : Keys organ/piano solo
Solo 2 :  Guitar solo

Repeat:

Shades....Girlllll

Then Repeat 1st verse raised two semitones.

Girl come out of the darkness x 4

Personnel:

SmithC: Lead and backing vocals
Paulo Gomes: Piano, organ, mix/master
Mark A Schrider: Lead and rhythm guitars, mid-solo
Henry Mittnatch: Guitars including fills and outro solo
Marcel Hoeke: Drums
Andy Gupta: Bass, tambourine

This did turn out great.
I always thought of this as a ballad from the beginning.
The mix is great.
And the piano...wow...especially in the section right before the middle lead. I love it.
Everyone did a great job.
And to think i had forgotten what i played.
Nice one...
rock-n-roll ain't pretty --- that's why they picked us to play it.

Cool ballad... It was a pleasure working with you all, gentlemen.
Live the best you can 'cause you're gonna be dead for a long time.
Respect
Paulo Gomes

Thanks Henry - very nice gtr fills in there!

Unplugged - waiting on Thunder to provide some gentle percussion stuff I think.

Not to forget the country, hip-hop, jazz/bebop, and polka versions  :P

the "dubble"step version surely :)

does someone have a didgeridoo?

I do (originally being from Aus). But I was hoping for a bluegrass version. I have a banjo somewhere. Great song. I like this version a lot!  :)

Thanks for the kind comment Errol.

We really have to get that digeridoo on a song  :) - Mirror perhaps?
